Why Varsity NIL

Built for the 95% the spotlight overlooks

The athletes with agents were never the problem. Varsity NIL exists for everyone else — the club players, the multi-sport athletes and the families who already fund the season themselves.

Video first, always

A short vertical clip tells a brand more than a spreadsheet ever will. The whole product is built around the feed, not around a database row.

Nobody works on a promise

Escrow is not a feature we added later. A campaign is funded before an athlete lifts a phone, and released only when the work is approved.

Families are part of the design

Guardian co-sign, school-protected profiles and a documented record of every deal — because most of our athletes are under 18.

Comparison describes common market approaches in general terms, not any specific competitor's current terms.

Texas first

Start where the sport already matters

Varsity NIL launches with a Texas cohort: athletes, schools and local businesses in the same towns. A tight first market means real deals rather than a directory nobody uses.

  • A founding cohort, not a free-for-all

Athletes are onboarded in groups by sport and region, so there are always brands to match them.

  • Local brands, local athletes

A training facility in The Woodlands wants athletes from The Woodlands. The marketplace is built around that.

  • Then expand

More sports, more regions, and the tools recruiters and coaches have been asking for come after launch, in Phase 2.

What happens after launch

The roadmap beyond the first release, planned separately from the launch scope.

2

Phase 2 — intelligence and tooling

Athlete scoring, a recommendation engine, advanced analytics, agency tools and coach partnerships.

3

Phase 3 — scale

A national marketplace, enterprise brands, deeper NIL intelligence and more sport categories.

Short video beats a stat sheet. Brands hire the athlete they can hear and see.

The product principle behind the feed

The brand pays up front. You get paid the moment your content is approved.

How escrow works, in one line

Your school confirms you play. Brands trust the badge, you skip the proving.
